Who can carry out the treatment
The royal decree on biocide training regulates the training needed to carry out treatments with biocides and develops it, among others, for insecticides.1 Biocide services that carry out treatments for third parties must have a technical manager.1 Companies providing these services must maintain continuing training programmes for all workers, on a five-year cycle with a minimum of 20 hours, and keep a documentary record of that training.1
The Generalitat, through the Departament de Salut, processes the registration, modification and cancellation in the ROESP of environmental pest control service companies.2 This page does not certify any company.

- Ask the company whether it is registered in the ROESP.2
- A written quote stating what is included, how many visits and what follow-up.
The official sources reviewed do not explain how to consult the ROESP publicly, nor do they set out precautions to take after the treatment.
Private spaces, community and public service
If the cockroaches are on the public highway or in the public sewer network, the ASPB is responsible for monitoring and controlling them: it can be reported and an inspection will be carried out.3
Private drains, basements or meter rooms can serve as a refuge and as an entry point to homes. When the infestations are in them, it is for the owners or the residents' communities to take the appropriate measures.3 If the source is in common areas, raise it with your residents' community.
For buildings it is advisable to keep pipes, drains and service sewer connections in good condition, store food in airtight containers, keep things tidy and clean and, if there are problems in common areas, contact a professional service.3
Which cockroaches are most common in the city
The most common in the urban environment are the German, oriental and American cockroach; the American and oriental are the ones that can be found in the sewers.3 The German cockroach measures about 13 to 16 mm, the oriental about 25 to 32 mm and the American about 34 to 53 mm.3
They are nocturnal, their life cycle depends on the temperature and they proliferate more in summer. They settle in shady places where they find food, water and shelter.3 Because they feed in dirty places, they are potential carriers of microorganisms and can cause allergies.3
